Now there is an alternative to dentures! Dental implants can be used to replace one or many missing teeth. They look so much like natural teeth that only a dentist can tell the difference. A dental implant is essentially a metal screw that is placed into the bone of the jaw where the tooth is missing. It varies from case to case, but typically dental implants must be given from 3-6 months to settle (for the bone to fill in). Once an implant is stable, a prosthetic tooth can be attached. Once complete, dental implants function just like real teeth.

Dental Implants are used on a singular basis for individual tooth replacement and in multiples to either provide anchoring systems for bridges, denture implants or partial dentures. Implants have also been used to replace or reconstruct literally every tooth, as in a complete makeover.

There are a number of factors that influence how many actual implants are used in any particular case. In addition, because of the advanced materials available through his hospital based ceramist and methods used in our office, Dr. Balaji can offer a choice of treatment alternatives using different combinations of procedures.
