In a proud moment for the dental and craniofacial surgical community, Dr. SM Balaji, Senior Consultant Craniomaxillofacial Surgeon at Balaji Dental and Craniofacial Hospital, has been elected President of the International College of Dentists (ICD) – Section VI, representing India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

The announcement was made during the 100th Year ICD Annual Convocation and Awards Function, recently held at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. This prestigious appointment recognizes Dr. Balaji’s outstanding contributions to oral and maxillofacial surgery, craniofacial reconstruction, and global dental education.

A Distinguished Installation Ceremony

At the convocation ceremony, Dr. Balaji received the Presidential Collar from the outgoing President, Virinder Singh. The ceremony was conducted in the presence of several eminent dignitaries, including:

  • Digambar Behera, Professor Emeritus, PGI Chandigarh and President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences
